Recently, we took on one of our biggest projects. Our large-scale projects usually consist of bridges, parking lots, and high-rise buildings, but this time the structure in question was Baylor University's Floyd Casey Stadium, located in Waco, TX. Built in 1950 and covering 80 acres, the stadium was the former home of the Baylor Bears and was able to hold up to 50,000 people.
As with other clients, we laid out a plan covering each step of demolition and brought together the required subcontractors, such as construction equipment operators. After setting up barricades, we commenced with the implosion of key areas from the end zones to the visitor's area to the press box, salvaging as much as we could of the stadium for recycling purposes. In between implosions, our licensed asbestos specialists went in and began a roughly month-long job of removing this dangerous substance.
